Horse Themed Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Blog· Equestrians

21 Apr

In case you didn’t know, Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 12th.

Have you gotten your Mother a gift? If not, you need to do that soon! If your Mom loves horses, read on to find her a perfect gift.

Don’t forget about the other women in your life who are just like a Mother to you. That could be your trainer, a mentor or anyone else who fills that role for you. Remember to thank them for being in your life and supporting you.

There is a section at the beginning of the post for gifts that are free (but valuable for your mom). If you don’t have much to spend, or are trying to control your own spending, go for an inexpensive or free gift to save yourself some money!

If you’re looking for something Free:

  • Clean Stalls for your Mom.
  • Offer to house sit now or in the future so your Mom can have a day (or days) off.
  • Take your Mother’s blankets and saddle pads to the laundromat for her.
  • Go for a ride together (this may not be free if you decide to take her somewhere but if you already have the horses, this is an easy one).
  • Clean your Mom’s tack.

Put a credit on her account at her favorite tack or feed store! The nice thing is that you can spend as much or as little as you’d like and she gets a surprise the next time she goes to buy something there.

OR

Send her to get a massage (work out the kinks from all her hours in the saddle).

Mothers are special people to all of us, and we need to remember to treat them as such. If your family isn’t big on buying gifts, pick something from this list that is free (or choose something yourself) and just spend time with your Mom.

Don’t forget to tell her how much you love her and thank her for everything she does. I know I wouldn’t be the rider I am today without my Mother’s support.
