An Equestrian’s 2024 Reading List

Blog· Equestrians

2 Jan

I have not been good about reading for the last several years, so this year I am going to do better! I hate to call it a resolution, but at the beginning of the year I am ready to commit to something new. And maybe if I post in such a public place that I am going to be better, I will hold myself accountable.

Reading is good for your mind and soul. It keeps you sharp and can teach you many new things, or take you on a fun journey.

So what do I usually read? I either read books about horses or I enjoy a good psychological thriller.

Your Foal: Essential Training

I am excited to read this book and learn more about the essential training I should be doing with my foal! He’s now a weanling and I’m really excited to learn more of what I should be doing with this young guy.

Foals and Young Horses – Training and management for a well-behaved horse

I received this book for Christmas and I am really excited to also read this one! I read the first few pages already and am excited to learn from a book that dives into the psychology and learning of a foal/young horse.

Dressage Training In-Hand

When winter keeps me from riding, I want to have something to work on. I cannot wait to dive into this book and start trying these exercises on my horses!

Don’t Let Her Stay

A psychological thriller, right up my alley – reviews say this is a great book!

Ward d

A psychological thriller about working in a mental unit. Sounds like an intriguing book.

The Millionaire Next Door

I’m always trying to better my finances, and I recently read about this book as a great motivation for saving money and ultimately becoming a millionaire. Looking forward to learning what I can from this book

Now you all might be wondering why there are only 6 books on my reading list. I’ve been terrible at reading lately so I’m going to keep my reading goal attainable with a few books for enjoyment and a few for teaching me something.

Hopefully I crush these ones this year and can add more next year!
